How to Preorder the PlayStation 5

Published:

How do you preorder the PlayStation 5? The PlayStation 5 price and the release date was officially revealed today after months of speculation. The newest Sony console will set you back £360 for the digital version and £450 for the disc drive version, which you can receive on Nov. 19 in the U.K. These are competitive prices with the Xbox Series X, which costs the same as the disc edition of the PS5. Preorders will come out tomorrow.

It is a little early to preorder the PlayStation 5, with the price just coming out. But hold on to your wallets, as the Xbox Series X was revealed last week and can be preordered on Tuesday. The PlayStation 5 can be preordered tomorrow, per Sony and first reported by Geoff Keighley.

Where can you preorder it? At “select” retailers, so it will probably be uncertain for now. Also, they didn’t even list a time that you could pre-order it. My guess would be early in the day in the Americas and maybe late afternoon in the U.K./Europe.

Best Buy has an option for you to be notified when the PS5 can be preordered. The technology that comes with the PlayStation 5 should also be available for preorder, so extra controllers will be available as well.

So just relax today and preorder it tomorrow. There are plenty of PS5s to go around. What you should think about is which one you are going to purchase. The Digital Edition might be worth it for the cheaper price point, although the regular PlayStation 5 has a disc drive that will let you play 4K Blu Rays.

There are plenty of games you will be able to play at launch as well. Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Cyberpunk 2077 and more will be around on day 1. Spider-Man: Miles Morales will release on Nov. 19 in the U.K.
