So you want to rank up in Apex Legends? I have broken down every rank so you can fully get to grips with everything you need to start playing like an Apex Predator!
To understand how to rank up in Apex Legends, we need to start with the ranks currently in Apex. We kick off with Bronze. Simply play and you will rank up, as you cannot lose points at this level. Enjoy dropping hot and the mad skirmish fights that bank you loads of points! You won’t always be able to rank up with such a carefree play style!
Then we move on to Silver. A very fun and somewhat carefree loot and shoot style of play will thrash out good points here. Take time to get familiar with your favorite champions and choice of weaponry! Practice will make perfect in the long run.
Last season, Silver had the largest chunk of players for any rank. Check out the breakdown as released by EA:
You can see a full breakdown of the season 2 ranks, as released by EA at the end of the 2nd season below:
0.2% Apex Predator
Next is Gold! You really need to start getting those big brain plays in. Choose your drop well and keep hitting up that same champion you have now stacked up a good few hours on. You’ll be keeping an eye out for your favorite gun, but you’ll be flexible, maybe have a few options in your arsenal.
Platinum—now we’re talking. By now, you’ve gotten yourself two or three buddies you can rally, and all of you are of similar rank. (If you’ve got no friends? No problem! There are Apex LFG Discords for that.) It’s important to play with people of your skill level; too low and you’ll get frustrated and burn out, too high and you will be dragged up out of your current skill level.
You should also know your best spots to drop and the guns you trust with your life! Players get increasingly aggressive in the early minutes of platinum games, but don’t get sucked into this barbaric nature! These are recent Gold 1 players who have ranked up and know that they have protection from dropping again. Let them scrap it out and pick up an easy kill or two for some points. You do have -36 RP to claw back… Otherwise, keep your head down, pick smart fights where you have the upper hand, and aim for a high placement.
Congratulations, you are in Diamond! You have made it to the promised land of Apex royalty. You are among less than 5% of players who achieve this. Hats off to you!
Not only do you have your favorite champions and guns but you understand the current META and will need to use this to your advantage if you are to make more progress.
To play here, you must hone your aim and own your opponents. You choose every fight tactically to the point of perfection as well as having buddies who have turned into brothers (or sisters) in arms.
To place in Apex Predator takes more than practice alone. You are playing at a professional level, and to maintain this rank, so are your teammates. If you are not yet streaming all of your games or winning some prize money for your game time, you should seriously consider it.
