Escape from Tarkov is usually characterized by its realism, which is why it can be challenging in some areas. One of them is inventory management. It’s very important to keep the loot you collect well stowed and to keep your inventory organized. And the first thing you’ll have to learn is how to move and rotate items in Escape from Tarkov.

All the items you find in the game have different inventory sizes. Therefore, you may have problems organizing your inventory, especially if you’re a new player. To make your life easier, you can rotate items within the inventory in an unexpectedly simple way.

How to Rotate Items in Escape From Tarkov

To rotate an item in Escape from Tarkov, follow these steps:

  1. Open your inventory and find the item you want to rotate.
  2. Then click on that item and hold for a few seconds.
  3. Then press the R (Rotate) key on your keyboard.

That’s it! So you can organize your inventory more conveniently. Of course, there’s one important detail you shouldn’t forget: Not all items can be rotated under all conditions. If you want to rotate an item, it must also fit into the inventory in the rotated state.

It’s true that Escape from Tarkov’s UI isn’t that great. That’s why it feels so easy to have item rotation tied to the keyboard key. Also, there’s no rotation in the dropdowns/menus of your inventory, so you have to do it from the keyboard.

You can fold your gun's stocks with dropdown menu.

One of the most effective ways to free up space in your inventory is to use collapsible stocks, which some weapons have. The sooner you learn how to do this, the better because some weapons really take up a lot of space.

Some weapons in Escape from Tarkov have collapsible stocks. Follow the steps below to fold them:

  1. Open your inventory and right-click on one of your weapons with a stock.
  2. You will see the “Fold” button in the drop-down menu. If it is clickable, click it.
  3. If the weapon is already selected, you can alternatively use the Alt + L combination from the keyboard.

This way you can make weapons that usually take up more than four slots smaller. Although it’s still not possible for some weapons, even if the stock has that feature. It’s best to try it one by one for all the weapons you’ve.

That’s all we’ve to say about how to rotate items in Escape from Tarkov. Keeping your inventory clean and organized is one of the most important tasks of EFT. As you play the game, you’ll quickly learn how to rotate your items, fold stocks, remove magazines, throw away unnecessary ones and sell them to traders. Good hunting!
