Combat Rating simply evaluates your character’s power. The higher the rating the stronger you are. This rating may not seem relevant at first, but when you reach late-game and start unlocking raids, those will have a minimum Combat Rating requirement in order to play it.

Different Clans, Warbands, and parties that are aiming to play together and farm a certain activity will also often look for players with a certain Combat Rating. That way they are guaranteeing themselves a certain set of rewards. If you are looking to join any of those it is handy to know your Combat Rating.

How to Raise Combat Rating in Diablo Immortal

The Combat Rating numbers depend on a couple of key things:

  • Gear score and rarity
  • Equipped Gems
  • Helliquary

These will be the things for you to work on and there are a few efficient ways for you to increase your Combat Rating in Diablo Immortal. Most of them can be used no matter how far you are in the game, if there is something that isn’t available, like Helliquary, just focus on the other ones.

Better Gear

The very first step to increasing your Combat Rating in Diablo Immortal is to hunt for better gear. And that means gear with a higher score and higher rarity. A higher score directly affects your combat rating so don’t forget to equip a higher score item if you get one. Those are marked with a green arrow in your inventory.

By the higher gear rarity, we mean Legendary gear. Legendary gear offers more stats and effects to improve your both Combat Rating and gameplay performance.

Once you have a good set of gear you can use the rank transfer that will use a higher rank piece to improve the equipped one. Rank transfer is available at any Blacksmith in Diablo Immortal so you can freely invest in your gear.

Legendary Gems

Most of the gear allows you to insert a Gem that will provide you with stat bonuses and extra Combat Rating. Only Legendary Gems provide the Combat Rating bonus though, so you will have to focus on looking for better primary gear.

The bonus depends on the rarity and rank of the Gem. For example, a Rank 1 2-star Lightning Core provides +12 Combat Rating. And you can increase this bonus by upgrading the Gem itself. Rank 2 2-star Lightning Core provides +18 Combat Rating.

Upgrading will take some time and resources, but Legendary Gems are an absolute must to have a higher Combat Rating in Diablo Immortal.

Quests

Make sure to complete all the Story (Orange) and Side (Green) quests available for you. Those can drop good gear, provide stat boosts and introduce you to the game mechanics you didn’t know even existed that may lead to more Combat Rating boosts like the Shadows buff.

Helliquary

Helliquary is a raid mechanic that will offer you great Combat Rating boosts by completing its missions. It has a variety of resources, loot, and quests for you to work with.

There are many raid bosses within the Helliquary for you to fight against, each having a different Combat Rating requirement. And the Helliquarry itself will be your main source of Combat Rating boost in Diablo Immortals’ late-game.
