How to Beat the Lost Warrior
Lost Warrior is a boss character in design and it shows in DNF Duel. As a character, Lost Warrior can bend space and time to his will to defeat his foes. The character has access to a time stop mechanic and a high damage super attack.
His arsenal also consists of fast teleport attacks that are hard to defend. Moreover, some of his attacks can immediately show up on his opponent for a hit. To top it all off, the CPU is designed to hurt as much as it can whenever it makes a hit and has more resources to kill you at lower health
The matchup is a nightmare for new players but the character has glaring flaws that you can capitalize on to defeat Lost Warrior. DNF Duel can make it hard, but take note of these tips during the fight to survive and unlock Lost Warrior:
- Try to clear the Story Mode with the character that you’re most comfortable with.
- Patience is key in this matchup for any character in this game. Move cautiously and focus on defending his attacks. The only attack that usually hurts you is a throw and stray jabs with no combos.
- Let him approach you and try to fight you up close. Lost Warrior struggles up close due to having the slowest jabs in the game. Wait for him to slow down on his offense and start contesting with your own fast options which are mostly in the A or B attacks.
- Make your hits count and learn your combos. Learning your character’s tutorial combos is enough and use it on Lost Warrior when you get the chance.
- Three of his teleport attacks, namely the fast sword stab, large purple sword swing, and the ball attack, are hard to defend normally with directional buttons. However, always preemptively expecting these moves and using the Block button solves this problem.
- His best teleport attacks are also heavily punishable when blocked except for the ball orb attack from afar.
- Lost Warrior has no defensive option against low attacks when waking up from a knockdown. Keep trying to hit him with attacks that can only be blocked while crouching.
- The CPU also tends to attack a lot and not blocking after being knocked down.
- If he starts to block low, don’t be afraid to relent on your offense and start defending him. If you’re feeling lucky, try to land a throw instead.
After defeating him in two rounds, enjoy your character’s ending, and Lost Warrior will now be playable for you. Currently, he is the only unlockable character in DNF Duel. The developers have yet to reveal the next fighters in this game after this boss character.
