Call of Duty: Vanguard features operators – characters you play as. If in Battlefield your character is just a soldier in Vanguard it is a person with a backstory and personality. There are 12 operators at the moment of launch and here is how to unlock every single one of them.

Operators in Call of Duty: Vanguard
In games like Valorant and Rainbow Six: Siege such operators are the key to winning the game. In Call of Duty those are pretty much just skins. operators do not have any gameplay impact and will not put you at a disadvantage in a multiplayer match.
Call of Duty: has 12 operators split into the 4 classes of 3. The classes are Barbarian, Hellhound, Sentinel, and Shadow. To clarify, classes don’t mean anything for multiplayer either. It only structures your challenges and mastery rewards (more about that in Leveling Up Operators section).
Every operator has a favorite weapon. It doesn’t mean that your accuracy from that weapon will be higher or recoil is reduced. It just means that the operator will earn extra XP for his favorite weapon. So picking the right operator can be great for leveling up your favorite weapon. Which makes it a favorite of both you and the operator.
Here are all the operators and their favorite weapons:
Daniel – M1 Grand
Wade – Type 100
Halima – MP-40
Polina – 3-Line rifle
Solange – NZ-41
Shigenori – Type 11
Roland – STG44
Lucas – Owen Gun
Beatrice – AS44
Arthur – Sten
Constanze – MG42
Padmavati – Combat Shotgun
How to Unlock Operators?
Every operator also has a favorite way of eliminating opponents. It can be in prone, finishing moves, or shotgun eliminations. To unlock an operator you will have to get a certain amount of kills in that said way.
Here are all the operators and requirements to get them:
Daniel – Get 200 Marksman Kills
Wade – Get 100 Headshots
Halima – Get 50 Prone Kills
Polina – Get 200 Sniper KIlls
Solange – Get 10 Double Kills
Shigenori – Perform 25 Finishing Moves
Roland – Get 300 AR Kills
Lucas – Get 100 Hipfire KIlls
Beatrice – Get 5 Kills Without Dying 10 Times
Arthur – Get 10 Kills with Killstreaks
Constanze – Get 300 LMG Kills
Padmavati – Get 200 Shotgun Kills
It can be a bit grindy to get some of those guys. The first one on your list will most likely be Solange, Arthur, and Beatrice. They are easy to unlock if you play carefully and avoid dying to get kills and unlock killstreaks. Others will come along with time so don’t focus too much on them, pick your favorite gun and play.
Leveling up Operators
Just like with weapons and attachments, operators also can be leveled up as you play. That unlocks customizations, XP, voice lines, MVP poses, and more. Weapon XP for the operator’s favorite weapon is also obtained via levels.
You level up by playing the operator and getting eliminations but if you want to speed things up there are certain challenges to complete. Every operator has challenges tailored to his playstyle aka the way you obtained them. In the example of Lucas who is unlocked by getting hipfire kills, there is a challenge to get hipfire kills as well.
Mastery challenges to unlock mastery skins are tied to the whole class of operators, not to a particular one. That makes the whole process way longer as you know have to max out three operators instead of just one.
That’s all there is about operators for now. With Season 1 arriving on December 2, we might see new operators joining our tsk force but it is not confirmed. So far the developers promise new weapons, gear, and maps.
