Mining ore continues to be a core mechanic in The Cycle. In The Cycle: Frontier players are given a mineral scanner that they can upgrade to help them locate ore nodes.
While players can explore the map with the default scanner, they will only be able to locate nickel veins. As players progress and take on bigger jobs, they will need to find Veltecite, Titan Ore, and Focus Crystals to complete quests. These ore types each require a special upgrade part on the mineral scanner.

Where to Buy Mineral Scanner Upgrades
Players looking to upgrade their mineral scanners can purchase attachments on the station. The Korolev shop will sell most of the mineral scanner upgrades in The Cycle: Frontier.
In the Korolev shop, players can find the Veltecite, Titan Ore, and Focus Crystal scanning modules. The Veltecite scanning module can be unlocked by completing the first part of the “Veltecite for the Masses” questline.
To unlock the Titan Ore scanning module, players will need to complete the second part of the “Titan Hunter” questline. Likewise, to unlock the Focus Crystal scanning module, players will need to complete the first part of the “Focused on Crystals” questline.
If players visit The Independent Civilian Advisory (ICA) shop, they can find a Crude Oil scanning module. This is the only epic quality mineral scanner upgrade part in The Cycle: Frontier. Players can unlock this attachment by completing the second part of the “An Eye for Oil” questline.
How to Attach Modules to the Mineral Scanner
Once players have one or more scanner modules, they can equip them to their scanner. To do this players will need to select a scanner in their inventory, and click on the icon with the middle mouse button.
This will take them to the item customization page. Any compatible mineral scanner upgrades will appear in the inventory boxes. In The Cycle: Frontier players can add up to four mineral scanner upgrades to a single scanner.
Once players add their attachments they can then take the scanner on their next mission and begin locating hidden ore nodes. Players will want to make sure they insure their scanners so that if they fail to extract they can get the scanner (or some cash) back.
Mineral mining is only one of the mechanics in The Cycle: Frontier that players will encounter. There are more, but players need to be well-armed and well-equipped to get the job done. Here are more guides to help do just that:
