DAMWON Gaming announced on their Twitter account that Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun will be their new League of Legends team’s new head coach. He will replace coaches Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Kim “Zefa” Jae-min who also just have been announced to join T1.
KkOma & His Legacy
KkOma has had an incredible career as a coach. He was one of the founding members of the most dominant team in League’s history, SKT T1, coaching both SKT T1 1 & SKT T1 2, where the GOAT Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok was brought up. KkOma led the organization to three Worlds titles ( in 2013, 2015 & 2016 ), establishing himself as one of the most successful coaches.
In 2019, however, he left SKT to go over to China & join Vici Gaming. The team didn’t have great success, but they managed to grow from a bottom-tier to a mid-tier team, ending the Summer Split in 11th position.

He then decided to leave Vici Gaming in September due to personal reasons but will make his return to the LCK as DWG’s head coach. With this announcement, DWG also tweeted that Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and Kim “Zefa” Jae-min according to their opinions. Later, the two coaches were immediately announced as part of the new coaching staff for T1 in 2021.
Zefa had coached on the T1 roster back in 2019, thus making this a return as the main coach. Daeny, instead, will be the team’s head coach.
This announcement was most likely pressured by Korean fans, as the rumored coach LS had been harassed in the last few weeks after T1 Effort leaked it on his stream.
Hoping that this will calm the fans a little bit, because what they’ve done shouldn’t be acceptable behaviour in the esports industry.
