After the long-awaited return of North America’s League of Legends esports, LCS Lock-In Semifinals will showcase 100 Thieves, Cloud9, Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid. The 4 teams will battle it out to find the which is the strongest starting off the year!

LCS Lock In, a kick-off tournament for NA’s League of Legends esports scene, began its group stage on January 15. Unfortunately, Dignitas and CLG found themselves at the bottom of their respective groups and failing to move onto Quarters.

Quarterfinals took place on January 23 and 24, in which 8 teams fought for their spot to be a semifinalist through Best-of-3 matches.100 Thieves and Team Liquid came out victorious will the Top 1 and 2 spots from Group A, Evil Geniuses and Cloud9 for Group B.

All quarterfinal games were finished with a 2-0 with a predominant show of strength from winners. The only match-up with a 2-1 is the legendary rivalry between TSM and C9. Despite TSM winning the first game, C9 was able to take the momentum through the second game and eventually sealing the series. A few pros did miss the Lock-In event due to travel restrictions, with teams hoping they will be able to join in time for the main series.

The 100 Thieves and Cloud9 matchup will be unfolding on January 29 at 3 PM PST. Evil Genius and Team Liquid will happen the following day on January 30 at 1 PM PST. The semi-finals will feature a Best-of-5 format drawing out the best from the teams. You can catch the games on twitch.tv/lcs.

What are your predictions for the LCS Lock-In Semifinals? I would say Team Liquid is looking very strong at the moment.
