The League of Legends Development Team have shared new information regarding the Dr Mundo Champion Update. Here’s what we know about it…
Riot Games announced back in June 2020 that Dr. Mundo was going to be getting a development on his VGU. There was a small update in September 2020 and finally we have a second.
In an overview, it seems that Dr. Mundo is going back to his MD roots in every way. His kits are thematically returning, alongside his ragged, white-coated appearance. He has new animations, some of which involve needles, and a hefty buff to his torso when he uses his Ultimate Ability.

Essentially, it’s small but important changes. Here’s what Drew Morgan, Lead Animator for Dr. Mundo’s VGU Team, said…
” Part of what makes him unique is his severe dumbness, so it was fun exploring how dumb and weird he could be… We knew he also needed to feel dangerous though, and so the real challenge was balancing how seriously scary he could be while still being a bit of a caricature. Most of his core mechanics are meant to feel weighty and strong, but sprinkled in there are some moments of levity.”

Essentially, every change that’s being made is to highlight his severe lack of intellect and severe not-lack of physical strength and endurance. He’s being made out to be the embodiment of Mr. Hyde: The opposite of Dr. Jekyll, to put it plainly.
” Emotes will be a place to tip the balance a bit more goofy, but the core animation set will maintain the feel of an unstoppable brute. Mundo is not delicate, and he doesn’t really use restraint. His movements should all be at 100% because he doesn’t know how to hold back, which is why he is so uncontrollably dangerous.”
