Leaks From Riot Games Suggest 2021 MSI Will Take Place in Iceland

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a toll on everybody, but the esports industry has still managed thrive with professionals playing online. With last years MSI being cancelled and the 2020 World Championship being limited to just a couple thousand in attendance, fans are desperately waiting for news on the 2021 MSI.

The official League of Legends esports website has hinted that the 2021 MSI event will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland – a country with only 14 active cases (The lowest number across Europe). It makes perfect sense to hold a live event in a country with well-controlled COVID-19 measures.

The following image surfaced earlier today on the League of Legends esports page, leaving fans surprised.

Although it’s still unofficial news, everything is slowly coming together. With the possibility of another limited fan attendance event.

Teams are slowly working their way towards securing playoff spots in each region, as MSI 2021 is right around the corner. With the leaks surfacing, there is no doubt that the tournament will go through and have teams competing for the first spot.
