With another good performance from LGD, there’s now a three-way tie in Group C. TSM is the only NA team with 0 wins on the scoreboard: their performance overall, however, wasn’t that inferior. Nonetheless, they now need a miracle second round-robin to have a chance to advance. Worlds 2020 will only get more exciting from here onwards.
LGD vs TSM – Draft – All meta picks…
With all the high-priority picks, both teams ended up with teamfight compositions. On one side, TSM wanted to enable the Bjergsen’s LeBlanc while protecting Doublelift with Bard & Shen. LGD, instead, went for a more full-on wombo combo team, putting their faith onto xiye’s Orianna & Kramer’s Senna. Whoever could jump successfully onto the enemy’s carries would come out on top.
LGD vs TSM – Game – The Compounding Effect
The game started off well for the LPL team, with a First Blood onto Doublelift. It looked like a really bad start for TSM. However, their response came pretty quickly with a successful dive in the botlane, regaining some control that allowed them to stay into the game.
The two teams were pretty even throughout the early stages: LGD maintained a small but very insignificant lead. Slowly, though, skirmishes started bursting everywhere on the map for the control of objectives. With the two teams trading blows, LGD always came out slightly ahead of TSM.
That allowed them to build up a compounding advantage which became larger & larger as the game dragged on. At 30 minutes, 3k gold divided the two teams. While it looked recoverable, TSM could do little against a fed Orianna that destroyed them with the Shockwave.
LGD played it out slow, knowing that they could win by playing with composure. After almost 37 minutes, they destroyed TSM’s nexus, earning themselves a second win.
They know tie with FNC & Gen.G in 1st place as their bad performance from Play-ins seems an old memory. TSM, instead, will probably face elimination if they don’t make a miracle sweep.
Group C will now play the second round-robin on Day 7. Everything will be on the line. Who will advance & who will go home? Stay tuned for more news on Twitter and Instagram.
