NDcube, developer of the Mario Party series since 2012, is allegedly hiring talent for a new installment of the storied and famous series. Here’s all we know…

Mario Party is, much like many other Mario titles, a staple family game for any Nintendo console. It may not be as competitive as Mario Kart, but Mario Party thrives nonetheless due to it’s variety. Super Mario Party, the latest installment, has about 80 minigames! Each game is a little different.

Now though, NDcube are hiring talent for the next instalment of the hit series. Check out what we know below…

NDcube has an average track record. As the Mario Party developer, they’ve developed some of the sub-par entries in the Mario Party series, such as Super Mario Party and both Mario Party 9 and Mario Party 10 (among other titles), which are generally viewed as ‘meh’. But, they were also the geniuses behind Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, which was nothing but a huge success. If they’re hiring new talent, maybe it’ll spice things up a bit and we can get back to the days of friendships ending over a game of Revers-a-bomb.

I would love to see the main gameplay return to what it was in the 90’s. Yeah, I’m old, I know. I miss when the mini-games chosen were depended on which circle players landed on, playing for higher stakes, and being able to spam-buy golden flutes to repeatedly teleport to a star and crush my friend’s dream of finally winning a game. Yes, Zack, I remember you throwing my controller.

I hope that the Mario Party developer hiring new talent brings new ideas to the development of the next Mario Party game, but with the track record of developers recently, I won’t hold my breath. To be fair, I doubt anything can be as disappointing as the failed hype of the Cyberpunk 2077 release.
