Metroid Prime 4 developer Retro Studios hire several more industry professionals; they’re VFX artists this time. With the new hires, will we be getting a new look at the anticipated title?
Since the Dawn of Time… Or E3 2017, which feels so long ago, Samus fans have been waiting for the next installment in the Metroid Prime series. Or… Well, any information regarding the title at all.
The First Look At Metroid Prime 4 Was Uneventful But Exciting.
For a while, times were good. Great, in fact. Fans of the series had a lot to look forward to! That was until January 2019. Fans were disheartened to learn that Nintendo scrapped the current work on the title and started over, but that might be the last of the bad news. Retro Studios have been busy and have recently hired three VFX artists, all with triple-A experience.
Adad Morales, who worked on Battlefield Hardline, Bryan Erck, who worked on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Nicholas Wilson, who worked on Borderlands 3, are the newest members of Retro Studios. These three join an exciting team of both new and established talent. Retro Studios is an exciting group, and this announcement will undoubtedly be welcome news to fans of the series.
These three join a team full of talent: Jhony Ljungstedt, former art director at DICE, Kyle Helfey, character designer for the Halo series, and Stephen Dupree, lead designer for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, are just a few of these.
Although we still haven’t had anything official about Metroid Prime 4 since the Development Update last January… This could be the year! A lot of developers are holding their own video showcases amidst the cancellation of E3. Plus, Comic-Con announced they will be collating a Comic-Con at Home experience later this year. Could something similar be in the works for E3?
