The Monster Hunter Digital Event has just unveiled some brand new details regarding the upcoming Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and the new update for Monster Hunter Rise. Here is all the info from the April 27 Monster Hunter Digital Event.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin
A new trailer for the game has been shown, as well as gameplay footage. Monster Hunter Stories 2 will feature the protagonists, Lilia and Reverto, from the first game. They chase after you, but then Reverto will eventually team up with you on your adventure.
Stories 2 is an RPG where you face off against monsters out in the field. The game uses a turn-based battle system and exploiting the enemies’ weaknesses will be vital to the game.
Like in the mainline games, you can target individual monster parts, allowing you to break them. This will knock down monsters or prevent them from using special attacks.
Battle Buddies are other characters that fight alongside you in your adventure. This allows you to have up to four characters on your side in fights.
The Kinship Gauge allows you to perform special attacks known as Rider and Monstie Skills.
Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will release on July 9, 2021.
Monster Hunter Rise
New Monsters are being added to the game: Apex Diablos and Apex Rathalos, and Elder Dragons Kushala Daora, Teostra, and Chameleos. These new monsters will also include new weapon and armour equipment.
Additionally, Apex Monsters can now be hunted outside of Rampage and can be fought traditionally like other monsters.
New cosmetic DLC will be added, including Character Vouchers that allow you to edit your hunter’s appearance. Character vouchers must be purchased, but all hunters will be given one free voucher once the update launches.
Other cosmetic additions include Fugen and Minoito voice options for male and female hunters, gestures, stickers, and more.
Event Quests will also be added to the game for free. they will need to be downloaded, which will allow you to play them forever, even offline. Some new event quests will grant cosmetic rewards such as gestures and stickers.
Hunter Rank cap unlocked
Hunter Rank (HR) cap will be unlocked in the new update once you have reached a certain HR. You will earn HR points for completing quests, which can increase your HR. Higher HR is required for the new monsters being added in the update.
Alongside cosmetic DLC is the ability to forge layered armour. Layered armour basically skins in Monster Hunter; they alter your appearance while allowing you to equip anything you want underneath for their stats and skills. Layered armour will be available when the Hunter Rank cap has been unlocked.
Monster Hunter Rise Version 2.0 will release on April 28, 2021.
Version 3.0 has also been announced for the end of May, which will include “several new monsters” and a new ending for the base game’s story.
Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will have crossover content. Having to save data of Monster Hunter Rise will unlock the Kamura Garb layered armour for Monster Hunter Stories 2. Conversely, having Monster Hunter Stories 2 save data will unlock the Rider layered armour set for Monster Hunter Rise.
That is all the info from the Monster Hunter Digital Event on April 27, 2021.
