A Netflix series adapting the Monster Hunter series has just unveiled its first trailer. The Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild series was hinted at quite some time ago, and it’s finally coming to fruition.
Unlike the Monster Hunter film that was released just last year, Legends of the Guild appears to be a more faithful adaptation of the Monster Hunter series. Furthermore, it features 3D animation as opposed to live action.
Unlike the film version, Legends of the Guild is set in the actual Monster Hunter world and is set to expand the the franchise past its video game franchise.
While the Monster Hunter film was exciting for some fans, this new film by Netflix looks much more promising. The film features soldiers from our world being transported into the Monster Hunter world.
From the looks of the trailer, Lunastra, an Elder Dragon from the video games, will be a focal point of the story and will likely serve as the main or initial antagonist.
Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild will premiere on Netflix on August 12, so we won’t have to wait long to witness this film.
For those interested in the series, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin are both available on the Nintendo Switch.
