In what is probably a very unexpected collaboration for Monster Hunter Rise, beloved icon, Sonic the Hedgehog is headed to the Capcom game. A rather bizarre (but fun) trailer was dropped to showcase the collab.
The trailer features “Escape From the City” by Ted Poley and Tony Harnell, a song that was featured in Sonic Adventures 2 as the Monster Hunter Rise content is shown.
As for the collaboration itself, Monster Hunter Rise will feature layered armour sets for hunters, Palicoes and Palamutes. And they look… interesting.
The hunter layered armour set features a track outfit with Sonic’s colours, and a Sonic cap to boot. It honestly looks so fitting, aside from the stark contrast of the setting of Monster Hunter Rise.
The Palicoe outfit is also modelled after Sonic. This one looks closer to the actual thing, except it’s still in the shape of a Palicoe.
Finally, the Palamute one is based on Tails. Like the hunter layered armour, it’s not a full model swap, but an outfit for the Palamute that’s based on Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

This will also be available on the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise on release. The PC version is set to release on January 12. The demo on Steam is available right now.
