Mousesports Complete Flashpoint 3 RMR Miracle Run

Updated:
Flashpoint 3 Champions Mousesports

Flashpoint 3 RMR had its Grand Finals yesterday between Ninjas In Pyjamas and Mousesports. The International roster powered by their star trio of frozen, ropz, and acoR, took the series 2-1 and completed a huge miracle run dropping only one map in the entire tournament.

The match started off with NIP’s pick of Overpass. The desk had discussed how acoR had been dropping in form the further into the event he went. The map kicked off with a strong start for Mouz with acoR taking the server by storm quickly reaching double digits before NIP could respond. Despite the strong start, however, NIP was able to answer back with a good T side half, ending up with a 10-5 half. Mouz almost made the comeback a reality as they took 13 rounds but NIP managed to close out the game with a 16-13 scoreline. Sadly for any fans of the Swedish Team, this was the last time they held a lead in the game.

Nuke was the next battleground and unlike Overpass this map wasn’t even close. Mouz started off strong and kept going despite NIP’s best efforts. Where the first map had individually favored Mouz slightly, this one was absolute domination with Mouz getting a 1.42 average rating compared to NIP’s 0.67. Off the back of frozen’s absolute decimation of the NIP CT side followed by a perfect CT half for dexter’s troops, the game closed out with a convincing 16-6 scoreline in favor of Mousesports.

The final map for the series was everyone’s favorite decider, Inferno. This time it was the ropz show as the taxman came knocking again and again. Mouz got off to a solid lead early and never let it get even close. With ropz’s world-class lurking not giving NIP even an inch of free real estate. Anytime NIP tried to go for area control or rotations, ropz was there to ruin their day. The superstar ended the map with 25 kills in a 16-9 victory.

For Mousesports this is their first tournament win since they took the trophy at ICE Challenge in January 2020 over NaVi. Since then the team was faced constant struggles, failing to make a dent in the competitive landscape and only making one final. This tournament and the absolute domination throughout by mouz puts them back into the conversation for events. If they can replicate this performance it can be another dream run like the one they had in 2019 when they won all events they attended at the end of the year.

The event will secure Mouz 1600 points in the Regional Major Rankings and puts them in Legend Contention for the upcoming Stockholm Major. They are definitely a team to keep a close eye on going into IEM Summer. For frozen, a player that has always lived in the shadow of ropz similar to how electronic plays with s1mple, Flashpoint 3 is his first MVP medal ever. His monster performances set him up for many more such MVP medals if he can achieve the consistency that has always eluded him.
