MSI Rumble Day 4 Results: Cloud9 Win Against RNG but Lose to PGG?

Updated:

Day 4 of the MSI Rumble Stage results are here after a day full of surprises! RNG qualified for Knockout Stage despises their loss against Cloud9, while DWG KIA closed the day with a 2-0 score moving both PSG and MAD Lions to third place.

The European Champions defeated the LCO champions and thus eliminating PGG from the competition, they did not leave without fighting: in the last game of the day, PGG defeated NA Champions landing a solid hit to their spirits as they head into the last day of Rumble Stage.

RNG qualified for Knockout Stage

The day began with the rematch between RNG and PSG, a match that was eagerly awaited considering that the last meeting between the two teams ended with the very first defeat of the LPL champions. PSG was able to hold their own against the RNG for most of the game, but thanks to their macro game and teamfight decisions the Chinese team manages to snatch victory after a fight masterfully executed by Gala. With this win RNG qualify for the Knockout Stage!

DK goes 2-0 and qualifies for Knockout Stage

The next game, MAD Lions vs DWG KIA, also allowed the latter to qualify for the next stage. A match that looked to be evenly matched instead reminded us why DK are the reigning world champions.

Similarly, shortly afterwards DK also defeated PSG, bringing the Pacific team and the European team into equal third place.

PGG Eliminated from Knockout Stage contention

In their first match of the day, the LCO champions faced the European champions, but unfortunately MAD maintained a solid performance throughout the game managing to defeat PGG with a gold lead of almost 20k gold in just 24 minutes. With this defeat, PGG was eliminated from the race to the Knockout Stage.

C9 defeats RNG, but lose to PGG

In their first match of the day, Cloud9 faced the almost immortal RNG and managed to defeat them thanks to a solid game plan and a brilliant execution by Fudge and Blaber which pulled RNG all over the map and outplayed them at every turn.

However a lack of consistency cost them a lot: in their second match of the day C9 faced the now eliminated PGG, the match was quite balanced, neither team had a clear lead and by minute 35, although PGG managed to obtain the soul of the fire dragon.

Caught out of position C9 begin to fall one by one, giving PGG the chance to close out the match in one swoop. Biopanther’s performance with Sett and Decoy’s performance with ThamKench were outstanding, with both players playing a key role in safeguarding their team and engaging at the most opportune moments.
