Taz from Multiversus

Whether you like it or not, MultiVersus is making waves. One of the characters that made the most significant impact on MultiVersus players is Taz. For better, or worse, Taz was the best character to play so far in the beta. But just how strong is he and how to build him properly? Here’s the best Taz build in MultiVersus.

Table of Contents

  • How Good is Taz in MultiVersus
  • Best Perks for Taz in MultiVersus
    • Signature Perk – Iron Stomach
    • Perk 1 – Percussive Punch Power
    • Perk 2 – Tasmanian Trigonometry
    • Perk 3 – Last Stand

How Good is Taz in MultiVersus

So far, Taz topped every tier list for both pro and casual play. He was simply THE best hero to play. Easy to pick up and understand, with great damage and unique kill angles, he could end matches in seconds.

As such, the player base got split in two. Those who enjoy playing meta picks and played him to win, and those who hated Taz, and his players and demanded nerfs as quickly as possible. He was pretty broken. With way too many multihits, a giant silence, and a very generous knockback mechanic that is easy to trigger.

As such, WB Listened. Here are all the nerfs that hit Taz in Patch v0.1:

  • Decrease in the tornado’s duration and the additional duration gained by passing an ally.
  • Removing one of the multi-hits of the tornado.
  • Decreasing the hit pause of all the hits in the tornado.
  • Reduced knockback from the final hit in the tornado from 1375 to 1275.

Don’t let these nerfs fool you, though. While they were enough to knock him down a bit on the power scale, he’s still up there with the best. Even though he is now looked down upon by many pro players, in the casual play he’s still one of the strongest picks, especially if you’re up against less experienced players.

Taz is really strong against most picks and can hold his own in every match-up if played correctly. That being said, he does struggle against heroes that can keep him at bay like Buggs Bunny, Tom and Jerry, or strong bruisers like Batman.

Best Perks for Taz in MultiVersus

Everyone hated Taz because of his tornado. And it got nerfed because of that. Even though it is still strong, Taz players can no longer “tornado-spam” to win games. It now takes a little more skill to play the hero properly.

But, as his playstyle no longer relies JUST on the tornado, we can now use Taz’s kit to its full potential and make it stronger with the best build and right perks to show MultiVersus players a different side of him. Taz’s perks focus on giving him that last “umf” he lost with the nerfs and empowering his abilities that were already strong.

Signature Perk – Iron Stomach

Iron Stomach is Taz’s signature. Literally. His special is “CHEW EM UP, SPIT EM OUT”, and lets Taz eat enemies (dealing damage to them) or their projectiles (destroying them). Iron Stomach creates an Anvil that is a projectile. It can be thrown by Taz at enemies to deal a lot of damage and knock back enemies.

This perk is great for harder match-ups against heroes like Buggs Bunny or Tom and Jerry. It helps Taz create openings against heroes that can hold him at bay. It is also great in 2v2 since your allies can also pick up the projectile and throw it. This offers Taz a lot of versatility and adds another layer of depth to his kit.

Perk 1 – Percussive Punch Power

Taz is a horizontal fighter. He doesn’t fight that well in the air or on small platforms. He is the best fighting on the big platform. That being said, his knockback nerfs do feel a little. The Percussive Punch Power perk helps by giving a 5% additional boost of damage to attacks that knock enemies horizontally.

It’s a great perk that helps him out a lot in adding to his consistent features.

Perk 2 – Tasmanian Trigonometry

Tasmanian Trignometry is one perk that many players suggested will be nerfed instead of Taz’s tornado. It adds a 15% knockback influence to Taz and his team, making it the perfect choice for Taz and his teams that mostly rely on him as a carry. It’s great in both 1v1 and 2v2 and almost feels like a signature perk.

Perk 3 – Last Stand

Last Stand is a generally good perk that makes you do 10% more dmg at 100 DMG. As Taz you will often find yourself taking a lot of damage since you’re a melee-heavy, horizontal fighter, that deals damage by getting up close and personal with the enemies. It is great in both 1v1 and 2v2, since in 2v2 you proc it 10 DMG earlier – at 90.

Taz is a great character that will remain on the top of MultiVersus tier lists, especially with the best build. But if you want some diversity, here are more builds for other MultiVersus heroes:
