Riot recently announced their newest upcoming champion, Aphelios. Moreover, with the preseason client, we already have Aphelios’ release date. They released his lore on Universe as well as a short story. Aphelios is a champion from Targon. He silently kills the enemies of his faith with various moonstone weapons granted by his sister, who stays in a sanctuary.

Aphelios’ Abilities
Little is known about Aphelios at the moment, but his kit is rumored to feature changing weapons. This comes from his lore, since his sister “pushes an arsenal of moonstone weapons into his hands.”
Based on the latest champion roadmap, Aphelios is set to be a marksman, an actual ADC marksman, unlike Senna, so he will definitely be ranged. This is supported by his lore where he aims and more specifically uses guns.
Aphelios’ Release Date
With the preseason update in full swing, a preseason tab was added to the client. This tab has a small timeline of upcoming content. One of these is Aphelios and features the teaser picture from the champion roadmap as well as a date: 12.11. This is most likely his release date for live servers.
New Event and Skins
This isn’t all the information that the timeline has to offer. There is also a new event listed called “Night & Dawn.” The picture for the event appears to be some upcoming skins with a concept that looks very similar to the Eclipse skins for Leona. The champion depicted has long white hair, what looks to be a staff, and pointed ears. Besides the horn that has been replaced with headdresses, the champion looks to be Soraka.
Alongside all of these exciting preseason gameplay changes, we also have free agency happening in the Esports world, so be sure to check out more of the latest news and guides on Gamezo, the new and upcoming gaming site. Follow us on Twitter to stay up to date with all the latest articles.
