Earlier this week, Nintendo shocked the world by announcing a new Pokemon Snap game inspired by the classic N64 title. There have been rumors of a new Pokemon Snap game for many years, but nothing concrete or any real hints from Nintendo. As of yet, there is no official release date for it, but Nintendo did give us a trailer and screenshots.
Now it appears pre-orders have gone live, but only at Gamestop and Best Buy. The retail price is $59.99, so the same price as a big title such as Super Mario Odyssey, rather than the cheaper $39.99 that is reserved for smaller titles. These could very well just be placeholder listings, but it seems unlikely that Nintendo would sell the game for any less than full price.
As of yet, there is no pre-order option on the Nintendo Switch Eshop, but that will likely come once the game has an official release date.
There is no information regarding how many Pokemon will be in the game or how many islands we get to explore, but hopefully that is all revealed soon in an upcoming Pokemon Direct, perhaps when more information on the second Pokemon Sword/Shield DLC is released.
