Warzone: Verdansk ’84 Revealed – New Locations and Big Updates

Published:

The new Warzone map is finally here, and with it comes a bunch of updates to old Verdansk. Along with multiple new named locations on the map, the refresh also came with a total retouch of all of the buildings and details of the previous map to bring a new flavour to the battle.

After a whole year of static Verdansk, Raven Software has at last released Verdansk ’84, the latest version of the Call of Duty: Warzone battle royale map.

The new Warzone map takes place during the spring of 1984, which is a refreshing change in itself as old Verdansk was set in the dead of winter. The seasonal change brings brighter colours and new scenery scattered across the map.

The new locations on the map include Summit, Factory, Array, and Salt Mine. Locations of the map that were already a part of Verdansk but saw an update include Airport, Farmland, Superstore, Downtown, Hills, and Promenade.

Veteran Call of Duty players will be happy with one of the more notable changes to the map in Farmland- which has been updated to feature the iconic Black Ops 2 map “Standoff” within Warzone. If Farmland was one of your favourite places to drop, don’t worry; there are still a number of farm buildings along the outer area of the location to explore.

On top of adding many more buildings, Raven opted to do some building removal in a few places as well to improve the pacing of the game. If you drop into Downtown or Promenade, you will notice that there are fewer buildings and more open space. The developers hope these changes will improve the flow of movement and combat in these areas.

If you want to experience these changes for yourself, we definitely recommend heading into Verdansk ’84; describing the changes doesn’t do as much justice as dropping in and simply taking a stroll around! That is if you can make it past the long queue times and laggy servers.
