Earlier today, it was announced that Mixer will be merging with Facebook Gaming and all Mixer partners will be automatically moved over to Facebook. But two Mixer partners who won’t be making the jump to Facebook Gaming are Ninja and Shroud.
According to Slasher, despite Facebook’s best efforts, both streamers have turned down exclusivity deals with Facebook Gaming.
Facebook offered an insane offer at almost double for the original Mixer contracts of Ninja and Shroud but Loaded/Ninja/Shroud said no and forced Mixer to buy them out. Ninja made ~$30M from Mixer, and Shroud made ~$10M
If these sources are correct, it finally puts the figure of Ninja’s Mixer deal at a whopping $30 million, while Shroud’s was still a huge $10 million. With Facebook reportedly offering double what their original contracts were, that puts Ninja’s Facebook offer at a staggering $60 million for a 3 year deal. It is unclear why the streamers turned down the deal; that is a lot of money. While Facebook is always seen as the black sheep of the streaming world, it is the fastest growing streaming platform and has a potential audience of over 2 billion people.
Ninja recently updated his Twitch panels, potentially indicating he will be making the move back to Twitch. But he did talk about how bad they handled his departure and how they didn’t treat him well as a partner, so it is possible that bad blood is too much, and he may consider another platform such as YouTube. It is unclear what Shroud’s next move will be, but it very likely will be back to Twitch.
Both streamers will be fine no matter which direction they go in. Both of their Twitch channels have a staggering amount of followers, and their YouTube accounts are successful, too.
