On June 13 2021 at the Microsoft and Bethesda’s Games Showcase, The sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence was announced along with its playable platforms including the Nintendo Switch! You couldn’t A Plague Tale: Innocence on the Nintendo Switch which means its sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem will have a whole new gaming experience using the Nintendo Switch features and controllers.
The story of A Plague Tale
In 1349, the plague sweeps the Kingdom of France. The Inquisition pursues Amicia and her younger brother Hugo through communities that have been decimated by the plague. They’ll have to work together with other kids and use fire and light to avoid swarms of rats along the route. They will confront unimaginable horrors in their quest to survive, aided only by the bond that connects their destiny.
Now on the story of reviews for the first game, it scored a 9/10 on Steam, 81% on Metacritic, 7/10 on IGN, and a 91% on Google Reviews. It was up for nomination for Best Game Narrative and BAFTA Games Award for Technical Achievement. It is safe to say that the first game was a great one and now trying to follow that success it A Plague Tale: Requiem. On how good it is, we will have to wait for 2022 but it is already shaping up to be better than A Plague Tale: Innocence.
Playable platforms and what is cloud-based?
The game will only be playable through PC, PS5, Xbox X series, Xbox S series and of course, the Nintendo Switch. What’s more is that it is going to be through the Cloud! Cloud-based gaming allows you to play games WITHOUT having to wait for the download time. This is possible through data servers using remote servers. The latest controllers, as well as the standard mouse and keyboard combination, are usually compatible with cloud streaming services via Bluetooth. On touchscreen devices, such as phones and tablets, you’ll also have the option to use on-screen controls.
As the trailer shows, it is only a cinematic one. We will have to wait in the future for gameplay trailers but that waves of terror rats is already a frightening sight to see and it is already very exciting to see on how that would shape up in-game.
