Danish organization North has announced that they have ended their contract with Makus “kjaerbye” Kjærbye. The team says it was a mutual decision. The 22-year old stepped down from the roster back in May due to health problems.
The Danish rifler joined the squad in back in 2018 and led the team to three Dreamhack open and one Dreamhack Masters tournaments. Despite these results, the squad never fulfilled their potential, as inconsistency and roster turmoils plagued them.
In a statement, North says that their decision comes after thorough discussions with the player and that they “want to help him transition to his next endeavor. The Kjaerbye case has also made us look hard at how we can make the environment for the players even better.” Kjaerbye announced on May the 15th that he would be stepping down because of health issues negatively influencing his performances. North initially replaced kjaerbye with their coach but has since then added Kristoffer “kristou” Aamand.
