Counter Strike: Global Offensive pro Ofnu back at Chiefs after a six-month spell at AVANT.
Chris “ofnu” Hanley might have dropped off the radar a little after leaving AVANT last month, but that doesn’t mean he’s out of the game. The New Zealand-born Counter Strike: Global Offensive player is now returning to “Oceana’s #1 esports” organisation…
Ofnu Back At Chiefs, Replacing HUGHMUNGUS
Since this announcement, Ofnu has already played matches for The Chiefs. He competed in the DreamHack Open Summer 2020 Closed Qualifier games against Rooster. Unfortunately, though, Chiefs lost this 2-0 after a number of technical issues. This doesn’t necessarily mean bad things, though.
The poor result may be, in part, down to the line-up Ofnu has returned to. The organisation has been overhauled in Ofnu’s absence. They seemingly cut ties with their old line-up and now sport a much younger roster. Ofnu also played with long-time teammate Mike “ap0c” Aliferis while at AVANT, so must have found himself having to adapt to playing with a new team.
The roster is as follows:
Jay “soju_j” Jeong
Tom “apocdud” Henry
Charlie “zeph” Dodd
Declan “Vexite” Portelli
Chris “Ofnu” Hanley
The official announcement seen above makes the signing and replacement seem almost last minute. While I doubt this is the case, there is also little to tell fans about the future of both Ofnu and the organisation’s roster. It does state that he will be a part of their CS:GO program going forward, but does not specify in what capacity that will be.
