It’s an unusual move from Grinding Gear Games, but a good one? The Path of Exile Version 3.13 Update has been delayed to avoid clashing with the newly-announced Cyberpunk 2077 release date.
As if the Cyberpunk 2077 delay wasn’t heart-breaking enough, now Path of Exile‘s next major update is being delayed. Grinding Gear Games announced that the next major expansion to their free-to-play game has been delayed until January 2021. The reason behind this all? Unusually, It’s due to Cyberpunk 2077.
Thankfully, for Path of Exile players, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be anything to do throughout the holiday period. Grinding Gear Games announced that there will be at least one “special multi-week in-game event” running. The details will be coming in the near future, too.
Path of Exile Version 3.13 Update Delay Statement Excerpt
” Yesterday, CD Projekt Red announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released on December 10. We do not want to put our players in a position of having to choose between these two games, so we have decided to step out of the way and delay the release of Path of Exile 3.13 until January. We still expect to finish 3.13 by early/mid-December. The scope of this expansion will remain unchanged. During the month of delay before release, we will start work on the 3.14 expansion.”
