Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Remakes Confirmed

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am. Gen IV has always and always will be my favourite Pokémon Gen. You get to choose between a cute penguin or an earth turtle? Perfect. Now with the Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl remakes confirmed, it’s quite literally the only game(s) I’m waiting for.

Not to toot my own horn, but last month I wrote an article about a leak that talked about a Pokémon-themed Nintendo Direct this month. In said article, I called a Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remake. Just gonna put that out there and hope my boss reads this article… *cough* Nintendo Pokemon Direct Next Month Says Reliable Source *cough cough*.

I DIGRESS.

The Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl remakes have been officially titled Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, and are going to be released later in 2021 on the Switch. Unfortunately, they aren’t available for pre-order yet.

From the media that has been released, the gameplay looks like what would happen if you took Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl and gave them the graphics from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake, which is to say, ADORABLE.

I’m a 31 year old man, I can say adorable if I want.

With most Pokémon remakes, later generations are inserted into the remade generation, so one can assume that’s going to happen here. Normally, I personally wouldn’t care, but as I said before Gen IV is my favourite. The game could stay exactly the same as the original versions and I’d be satisfied.
