What better time of the year to catch a Galarian Yamask in Pokémon Go? Spooky season has well-and-truly begun, so here’s a guide to help you out. (Featured Image Credits: Future Game Releases)
Yamask is a Ghost-type Pokémon that was introduced into the Pokémon universe through Pokémon Black and Pokémon White. Although that means they’ve been around for a little while, you may not know what they are. Thanks to Pokémon Go, fans now have a chance to catch the Galarian Yamask just in time for Halloween.
Galarian Yamask is different in a variety of ways. Not only do they both look a little different, the Galarian Yamask is also a hybrid Pokémon that’s a Ground-type Ghost-type mix. While a traditional Yamask evolves into Cofagrigus, the Galarian variant evolves into Runeriogus.
Both the Galarian Yamask and Runeriogus are pretty simple to catch if you know what you’re doing. That, and if you play before the end of the in-game Halloween event.
Special Research Tasks Key To Catching Galarian Yamask in Pokémon Go
The main method you’ll need to use is to just grind out the Special Research tasks. Galarian Yamask hasn’t been added into the Egg and Raid pools yet, so the encounters you’ll unlock by completing these tasks are vital. Special Research tasks often vary in objective, but they won’t be anything you haven’t done before in Pokémon Go.
The event-specific research line is titled “A Spooky Message Unmasked”, so make sure you’re completing challenges for this as opposed to ordinary research.
