Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Remaster Coming To Nintendo Switch!

My childhood has returned! Nintendo has just announced via their Pokémon Direct Livestream that Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX (a remake/remaster of the original Blue/Red Rescue Team) is making its way to the Nintendo Switch! Thankfully, we won’t have to wait long, as the game is coming out on March 6, 2020! You can check out the brand new trailer below!

Hopefully, this means that more classic Pokémon games will be getting remakes on the Nintendo Switch. I would like to see Pokémon Ranger, Snap and Colosseum by 2021. Make it happen, Nintendo! If you have never played a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game before then you are missing out! First appearing in 2006 on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, the Mystery Dungeon games added two things the main-series games didn’t have: challenging gameplay and a compelling story.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

In all of the games, you assume the role of a Pokémon after they have been transformed from a human. Because of this, the Mystery Dungeon games include vast amounts of dialogue not seen in most Pokémon games. The gameplay has the player navigating randomly generated dungeons that increase in length and difficulty. All movement and actions are taken using a turn-based combat system.

The last Mystery Dungeon game was released back in 2015 on the 3DS. And while some Pokémon fans were starting to get worried that maybe the Mystery Dungeon games were dead, Nintendo has thankfully proven them wrong! If you have never experienced a Mystery Dungeon game before then this upcoming Switch remake will be the perfect time to jump into the series!
