Pokemon Presents Gives Us A Look At Smile, Snap, and More

Updated:

Today’s Pokemon Presents digital presentation was full of a lot of new Pokemon content coming our way over the next year. Additional content is coming to Pokemon GO alongside Pokemon Smile, Pokemon Cafe Mix, and Pokemon Snap.

Tsunekazu Ishihara, President and CEO of The Pokemon Company, delivered the presentation from his Pokemon-filled office. He offered a few brief words between the trailers shown, with a translator helping English speakers understand. Watch it all here:

Pokemon Presents First Title Was Pokemon Smile. It Makes Tooth-Brushing Fun, Sort Of?

The first announcement made during today’s Pokemon Presents presentation was regarding Pokemon Smile. This is a brand new smartphone app that basically tries to make brushing your teeth a game.

Throughout, you can catch Pokemon and earn rewards by brushing your teeth. It didn’t go into a lot of detail about how this works, but it aims to create healthy brushing habits, so chances are there might be some time-related bonuses as well as duration and technique.

Turn a stressful time into a fun adventure with Pokemon Smile.

Pokemon Smile is available right now on the App Store and for Androids.

Pokemon Cafe Mix Is A Strange Puzzler Set In A Pokemon Cafe

In this title, you are a Pokemon Cafe Owner. Normal stuff, then. But, obviously, you’re the only person there. All your customers and staff are Pokemon. The 2D hand-drawn-esque art style of Pokemon Cafe Mix is adorable. I can see this one being popular. It’s hard to imagine Pokemon sprites being even cuter, but they are.

Pokemon Cafe Mix has you mixing Pokemon alright!

The puzzle aspect of the game itself is unusual. You have to link matching icons by swirling them. It is hard to explain in text, but it is somewhat like a match-three title with less restrictions on the placement of the things you’re matching.

Pokemon Cafe Mix is a free-to-start title available soon on Nintendo Switch and Smart Devices. You can pre-register and pre-load now.

Pokemon Presents Pokemon Snap!

Yep, you read that right. Pokemon Snap is coming back. Originally released on the N64, Pokemon Snap has you on a safari of sorts as a photographer. You are largely on rails, moving through each environment automatically as you take photographs of the Poke-Wildlife. Not a lot of actual game footage was shown, but it seems to have graphics in-line with Sword and Shield gameplay.

Other than that, it seems like everything is about the same. Except for the new Pokemon that might appear and the updated graphics, nothing has been shown that would set it apart from its predecessor.

Pokemon Snap is coming to the Nintendo Switch in the future.

Pokemon GO Is Getting A Few Updates Too

Alongside remote raids, larger inventory space and bonus daily research, the Pokemon GO team is making it easier for trainers to play from any situation. There wasn’t anything too specific besides this, but it’s welcome news all the same.

Mega Evolutions are also coming to Pokemon GO, at some point. Alongside this, starting today, Galarian Farfetch’d will appear in-game and trainers will receive gear inspired by the Pokemon Sword Shield DLC.

To celebrate the launch of this DLC, Pokemon Sword Shield will also receive a limited-time raid.

You Can Get A Shiny Zeraora For Free

Players can get their hands on the legendary Zeraora if one million people win the limited-time raid that is now appearing in Pokemon Sword Shield. This special Max Raid Battle is against Zeraora, so bring your A-game and your friends!

Pokemon GO Fest 2020 will be completely digital this year. Additional Pokemon have also been hinted at, but not a lot else is known about this at the moment.

Tsunekazu Ishihara also announced a second Pokemon Presents coming June 24. This will have more information on a mysterious new big project.

Pokemon Home might just be more important with all these additional Pokemon titles! Check out what we know here.
