Pokemon Unite, the new Pokemon MOBA to be released on mobile and Nintendo Switch sometime this year, has had some leaked gameplay footage today. Here is what we know…
Footage for Pokemon Unite was leaked today. Here are some screenshots from the footage detailing what we know:
The first screenshot here obviously is of gameplay. You may have seen Pokemon’s promotional video detailing some of the early game stratagies like taking out camps to level up. Specifically this picture is from early game with our POV on Charmander attacking an Audino camp bot-side with partner Absol. It seems Pokemon with no evolutions have slightly larger base stats, however I can not confirm for sure.
Eventually, our Charmander friend became a Charizard after taking on an NPC Drednaw camp, which seemed to serve as a bot-side mini-boss equivalent to Dragon in League of Legends. Charizard was using its Ultimate attack which allows it to soar above a teamfight avoiding any CC, and seemingly auto-attacks, while spewing fire into the helpless crowd of Pokemon. Speaking of which, here is a screen-cap of the two teams:
Yeah, that’s an enemy Eldegoss, which is a Pokemon, I for one, was never expecting to be able to play as in Pokemon Unite. I guess I’m excited!? This diversity in roster picks should really give some confidence to Pokemon fans were skeptikal about the intial roster shown before. Other Pokemon shown in the leak are below.
Squiting hard enough? Let me help. In order you should see, Crustle, Alolan Ninetales, Slowbro, Cinderace and Garchomp. A hefty line-up already, with the last picture also boasting a costume for Venasaur wearing some ski-goggles.
Ever wanted a Charizard that also writes poetry and only sings John Mayer? Well this Charizard skin is definitely for you, you hip-Charizard-trainer, you.
This is the Pokemon Unite win screen from the point of view of our trainer and Charizard after they spawn-camped the enemy team and won the game a whopping 758 to 0. The battle seemed a bit one sided, wouldn’t be surprised if the battle was played against AI oppoenents.
What do you think? Are you impressed with what the Pokemon Unite gameplay has to offer so far? Can I even play a MOBA with my Switch controller? For answers to those questions and future updates on all things Pokemon, trust Gamezo to deliver.
Can’t tell an EV from an Eevee? That’s okay, Pokemon can be confusing but we make it amusing. Or at very least rhyme. For more content head to our Twitter and be sure to check out our YouTube Channel for more great content from the Gamezo Team!
