Quantum Error is coming to the PS5 this “whenever the PS5 will be released”. Developed by TeamKill Media, Quantum Error becomes the first horror title to be confirmed for the PS5 so far. It is uncertain as to whether this will be one of the console’s “launch titles”, but the title is also being released on current-gen consoles, so there’s a chance it might be.
Founded in 2016, TeamKill Media only sports one other release so far with Kings of Lorn: The Fall of Ebris. However, from the announcement trailer below, Quantum Error looks like it might be something to get excited by.
Quantum Error is a “cosmic horror First-Person Shooter”, but what does this mean? I wasn’t sure, so I did what any other self-respecting man does and Googled his questions. When you search for it, “Lovecraftian horror” is what you get. I would recommend giving it a look and you’ll soon be clued up as to what it all means.
What I found interesting is that its visual style is reminiscent of Alien: Isolation and Prey. Cosmic / Lovecraftian horror is not usually framed by science fiction, so this could make it all the more interesting.
Quantum Error’s Trailer isn’t anything too special, unfortunately.
I understand the objective for an announcement trailer, and the fact that the PS5 is still a little ways away. Unfortunately, I found it doesn’t pique the interest as much as one might hope. It looks interesting, don’t get me wrong; the large bulk of the trailer is just searching a corridor with a shotgun-mounted flashlight. Still, the end of the trailer offers a very short glimpse into what could be a promising title. Even more so, the game looks like it would suit VR well if that’s your cup of tea.
With it just being announced, there isn’t much more information on Quantum Error just yet. Be sure to follow TeamKill Media’s own channels for any updates. Quantum Error is to release on both the PS4 and the PS5. Want details on the PS5’s specs? TechRadar has an article about that here!
