Day 2 of the NAL Stage 2 saw many teams who didn’t get off to the start they would’ve wanted to redeem themselves and the usual fragging masterclass from the likes of Beaulo and Hyper along with some fresh names joining the fray alongside them.
DarkZero > SSG
TSM > Beastcoast
Disrupt > XSET
Mirage > Oxygen
DarkZero vs SSG: A battle of perseverance.
The first match of the day kicked off on Villa, the match between DarkZero and Spacestation Gaming exceeded expectations because neither team showed any willingness to back down. SSG took a 3-0 lead and was looking strong early on with no signs of letting up which is when DarkZero entered beast mode and won 6 rounds in a row. Just when everyone thought it was over, SSG came back, won 3 rounds and took us into OT, in which DarkZero won 8-6, making it their OT win of stage 2. DZ’s Hyper got 14 kills, taking his tally to 33 kills in just two games.
TSM vs Beastcoast: Blink and you’ll miss it…
TSM FTX vs Beastcoast started after some technical glitches and a lot of banter with Merc eating a banana on stage just like his friend and teammate Pojoman, giving everyone their ‘Screenshot Moment’ of the day. The match finally began and it was almost as if the entire game was banter for TSM because they won 7-0. For Beastcoast, this stage has been a roller coaster ride, taking the stage 1 league toppers, Oxygen Esports to the 15th round and then getting 7-0’d by TSM. They will certainly need to work on their game to get back into the league as it’s not at all too late.
Disrupt 7-4 XSET:
We went back to Villa for XSET’s first match of Stage 2 where they faced off against Disrupt, who were hyper-motivated to win after a defeat at the hands of TSM on the first playday. Dpfire continued to perform after a great debut on playday 1, going 11-9 and showing everyone why he was picked up by Disrupt. In the final round, David “Iconic” Ifidon got a 3k to finish off XSET. End of match, Disrupt 7-4 XSET. One of the highlights plays from this game was Shuttle’s clutch:
Mirage vs Oxygen Esports: Curtain Call.
Mirage Esports and Oxygen Esports met on Clubhouse for the final match of the day. Mirage was looking to get their first win of stage 2 while Oxygen wanted to secure 3 points after getting only 2 on playday 1, Benji continued to perform, one of the strongest influences on the team’s morale, constantly hyping them up and fragging out in-game as well, winning only two rounds in the first half, Mirage ended the game, winning it 7-5.
The NAL’s Stage 2 Playday 2, included great performances from Panbazou, who’s finally coming into his own at DarkZero, similar to the form he was in during his time in Challenger League. SSG’s HotandCold also racked up 14 kills after an underwhelming debut but unfortunately, those kills were in vain as his team couldn’t win. MVP of the playday had to go to Jason ‘Beaulo’ Doty because a 12-0 K-D at this level of play is unheard of, not only that, he assisted his teammates as well. The next playday will be live on Tuesday at 1:00 PM PDT on the Rainbow Six Twitch channel.
