Soniqs won their second match in a row while mirage lost their second game in a row. Mirage has seen a drop in their form since beating TSM on day 5. Soniqs have picked up great form and now sit level on points with TSM, only trailing on the round difference. Rexen from Soniqs had a great game, racking up 18 kills, dying only 4 times in the process. Soniqs look strong contenders for the number 3 spot as the stage comes to a close and some favourable results may see them go even higher up.
Oxygen Esports vs Disrupt Gaming: So many clutches.
Kafe Dostoyevsky played host to a very important game in the grand scheme of things for the top 4 spot chase between Oxygen Esports and Disrupt Gaming. The match included a lot of clutches from players on both sides. Disrupt took the lead but OXG did well to come back. In the end, DG was able to see out their lead and clinch the game 8-7. It was much closer than they would’ve wanted but would be happy with the result as DG’s Dpfire named Oxygen as one of their toughest opponents team-wise, in an interview conducted by us a few days prior to this game.
XSET 3-7 TSM FTX: Return of Geo and TSM.
Emilio “Geometrics” Leynez Cuevas, returned to competing as part of TSM which he couldn’t do earlier due to some visa issues. But he’s back and TSM to are back to their winning ways after a 2 game losing streak, where they got beat by Mirage on playday 5 and SSG on playday 6. Geo’s return was a very welcome change, he played against Orgless and Wichita Wolves over the weekend in the GWB- North America Competition. Even though Beaulo didn’t frag to the best of his ability, TSM is filled to the brim with talent and their top fragger on the day was Achieved who went 11-3.
Beastcoast vs DarkZero: DarkZero struggle to see out leads again.
The match was close early on but DarkZero quickly took a 6-3 lead but much like their previous games, they weren’t quite able to see out that lead and ended up going into Overtime, where they won 8-6 but missed out on 1 very crucial point late in the stage. The good news for DZ is that a win is a win and that Hyper is back in form after having slightly dropped in the last few games, this match he went 17-9 and put on a show for the viewers. Beastcoast’s AnthonyMGS also put up a respectable 17-10 K-D but it was in vain as DG finished off the game 8-6.
MVP of the day: Soniqs’ Rexen
MVP of R6 NAL Stage 2 Playday 7 went to Soniqs’ Rexen for his exploits in their game against Mirage where he had a K-D of 14. Last week, SSG’s Hotancold had topped 4 of 6 charts in the NAL, by this week, Rexen is now on top of 3 of those charts.
R6 NAL Stage 2: As it stands:
SSG are still top of the table. TSM and Soniqs are close behind with 13 points each and many teams are looking to seal their spots at the August Mexico Six Major.
