Rekkles Joins G2 – Best Roster EU has Ever Produced?

G2 has officially announced that Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson will join the team for the upcoming season. The long-awaited announcement has finally come true. Could this be the roster that will win Worlds?

The former Fnatic AD carry Rekkles will replace the legendary Perkz, who is considered by many the franchise player of the organization.
Rekkles, arguably the best European ADC of all time, has left FNC after 8 years of service in the organization. He informed the team on Nov. 18 that he wanted to join another team, one day after Perkz stated that he would leave G2. The Croatian player is set to join Cloud9 with a whopping $5 million buyout.

Rekkles has won nine titles with FNC, dominating the regions for several years. However, in the last few years, the team fell short regionally to G2. In 2020, Fnatic lost both splits to G2 in the playoff finals 3-0, being dominated by the rivals.

Rekkles will finally rejoin with Caps, after playing together for 2 years in FNC. G2’s roster might probably be the best roster in LEC’s history, with Caps & Rekkles the best in their role. Alongside them, Jankos, Wunder & Mikyx are all considered top-tier in their roles.
G2’s intention is very clear. With Perkz stepping out, G2 is trying to upgrade its roster once again, hoping to finally achieve what the organization has been going after for years: the Worlds Championship.

Could this be the time Europe reigns supreme & finally beat the LCK & LPL Representatives? Will Rekkles be the key to victory? All eyes will be on G2’s performance over the course of the season & especially at Worlds. In the meanwhile, we might probably witness the most dominant season in the LEC… ever.
