Get ready to return to Raccoon City. This Thursday, the Resident Evil 3 Remake demo will be launching, followed by an open beta for Resident Evil Resistance on the 27th of March.
In a press release released earlier today, it states the demo will see Jill team up with Carlos and the U.B.C.S to help rescue and evacuate civilians, all while being hunted down by Nemesis. Its unclear whether this will also feature in the full game or whether its a specially made demo. These events don’t occur in the original story but very well may be a portion of the remake. This news also confirms that we will encounter Nemesis throughout the demo.
The demo will also feature 20 Mr Charlie statues that we need to find and destroy. There is no word on whether this unlocks a bonus for the full game or whether its just a fun extra for the demo. The demo will also feature an exclusive cinematic trailer upon completion.
Then, on March 27th, the open beta for Resident Evil Resistance will begin. Resident Evil Resistance is a 4v1 multiplayer game that will be part of Resident Evil 3 Remake. The game is similar to games such as Friday The 13th and Dead By Daylight in that there are 4 players on one team with the mission to survive and escape and 1 player on the other who is tasked with taking them down by any means necessary. This is done by controlling items and environmental hazards on the map as well as spawning enemies, including Mr X, into the map to try and take down the survivors. The beta will end when the full game launches on April 3rd.
The Resident Evil 3 Remake beta will begin on March 19th at 00:00 h ET / 04:00 h GMT / 05:00 h CET on Xbox One and 13:00 h ET / 17:00 h GMT / 18:00 h CET on PlayStation 4 and Steam.
The Resident Evil Resistance open beta starts March 27 at 03:00 h ET / 07:00 h GMT / 08:00 h CET for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and 13:00 h ET / 17:00 h GMT / 18:00 CET for Steam.
