We all knew this day would come, but we didn’t expect it so soon. Resident Evil 3 remake has been leaked and will likely be officially revealed in the very near future.
Gamestat is a website that tracks additions to PSN using its API, and it recently leaked that Resident Evil 3 remake has been added to the PSN code, complete with cover art for both the Japanese and International versions.
Below you can see the cover art for the International version titled “Resident Evil 3” and the Japanese version titled “Biohazard 3”. There is also a Z version which is the same as the International release. The regular Japanese version has the gore limited. This was also the case with the recently released Resident Evil 2 remake.
As you can see, the image shows Jill & Carlos as well as a first look at Nemesis. Jill looks a lot like how I’d expect her to, especially taking into consideration how characters such as Claire looked in Resident Evil 2. Carlos also has much bushier hair than he did in the original RE3. Nemesis also looks just as terrifying as we could hope. We all thought Mr X was scary, but imagine Mr X running. This is horror on a whole new level.
Despite being leaked from PSN, it is very unlikely that it will be an exclusive and can be expected to launch on PS4, Xbox One & PC. It is also rumoured to be revealed (and playable) at the upcoming JumpFesta 2020 which takes place on December 21st & 22nd, although Capcom might reveal it early now that the cat is out of the bag.
Also, as a quick note, it appears that the upcoming “Project Resistance” has been rebranded as “Resident Evil Resistance” and “Biohazard Resistance”. This is potentially to increase sales after the beta fell flat with many people.
