RuneScape is quite infamous for its buggy releases. In fact, Monday is a common meme among the RuneScape community, since that’s when Jagex releases updates, which has a tendency to include bugs that made it through QA.
While gamebreaking or severe bugs definitely catch Jagex’s attention and they take action to fix it, there are still many outstanding bugs that persist in game. Here is a list of RuneScape bugs that need to be fixed.

This one is rather minor, but can be pretty annoying. As far as bugs go, this one is one of the least harmful ones.
In RuneScape, if a player receives a drop or reaches a milestone or completes certain achievements, a broadcast is sent out to other players. These broadcasts can be worldwide, in which it is sent to players in the same world, or global, which is sent to all players, regardless of what world they’re on.
However, very frequently, the broadcast would occur multiple times. This is seems to be a client-sided issue, since a player can see the duplicate broadcasts while others don’t. Furthermore, the broadcasts can be shown up to 6 times in the same game tick.
For the most part, this is benign and just slightly clogs up the chat in some cases. But it’s recently become more of a problem, seeing as how it is possible to get duplicate drops in some bosses.
For instance, Elite Dungeon bosses have a 20% chance to duplicate drops. So, there are many times when a player gets a drop from an Elite Dungeon boss, but the broadcast is duplicate. This can be annoying when the player believes the drop was duplicated when it wasn’t.
Channeled abilities and Revolution
This one is also minor, but it does have an impact on gameplay. In RuneScape, players can use Revolution combat, which automatically casts abilities on the ability bar. This was added to the game to make RuneScape feel more like the traditional “click-and-forget” style that RuneScape has before the Evolution of Combat.
When using Revolution, abilities are cast on after another is it’s off cooldown in the order of left to right in the action bar.
However, when a channeled ability is cast, there is a delay of one game tick before the next one is cast. This can be really annoying, as it significantly reduces DPS when relying fully on Revolution.
For the most part, this won’t affect the top PvMers, since most use Full Manual. But for those who want to AFK, this can be a bit of a nuisance.
Wilderness Obelisks disappearing
This one is a little scary. The Wilderness is a PvP zone, meaning that it’s a dangerous place to be. However, there are reasons to go there such as to kill Lava Strykewyrms or cut Bloodwood Trees for Bakriminel Bolts.
Scattered across the Wilderness as Obelisks, which allow players to travel between them. At the moment, however, there is a bug in which these Obelisks simply don’t appear.
It can be frustrating and even fear-inducing to be headed to an Obelisk to teleport only to see it gone.
Elite Sirenic and Elite Tectonic degrades to dust
Elite Sirenic and Elite Tectonic are degraded tier 92 armour for Ranged and Magic, respectively. After an update that increased their upfront costs, but made them repairable, it seemed as if their ridiculous upkeep costs have been addressed.
But the problem here is that while the armour pieces are repairable, they still degrade to dust if they reach 0% charges. This is a problem, as equipment that are repairable normally degrade to a broken state.
If a player forgets to repair a piece and it reaches 0%, they’re suddenly in a situation where they have to spend an incredible amount of money for a new set.
For the most part, if players augment their armour, they don’t have to worry about it disappearing. However, the Elite Sirenic and Elite Tectonic Masks will still degrade to dust if they reach 0%.
Fleeting Boots locking you in place
Now here is a RuneScape bug that can actually cause deaths. There is a Ranged ability called “Rapid Fire,” which is a channeled ability that is used in all rotations. Being a channeled ability, it gets cancelled if you move while casting it.
However, if you’re wearing Fleeting Boots (or its enhanced version), you can move while using Rapid Fire.
However, there’s an issue where if you lose line of sight with your target, your Rapid Fire will stop firing, but you will still be locked in place until the “remaining” duration of Rapid Fire end.
Jagex has taken note of this and has plans to fix it, but that was over 2 months ago, so who knows when it will actually be fixed.
Those are only few of the bugs that are in place in RuneScape. Jagex can be really inconsistent in fixing bugs.
For instance, there used to be a bug that allows players to farm any Elite Dungeon boss without going through the dungeon. This caused many high end gear to enter the game, and it took months for Jagex to fix it.
However, many RuneScape bugs do still get fixed somewhat quickly. The Dark Shard and Sliver of Leng not working properly with Revolution was recently fixed, for example.
