In 2018 Jagex originally announced Runescape for mobile. Fan’s waited about three years to play since it was only released today – the 17th of June 2021 – and the game is already being harshly criticized because of the numerous amounts of issues it is having. Runescape’s Google Play Store rating has already gone down from 4.9 to 2.6.
The game is an open-world sandbox RPG where you and your character go on a bunch of quests and defeat some bosses on the way. The original release of Runescape was on the computer on the 4th of January in 2001. The game was a huge success for Jagex with 14 million+ players or subscribers since launch.
If you are new to Runescape and want a better idea of what the game has in stock, watch the trailer below.
With the launch being today there are already a ton of issues regarding connection and sign-in. Jagex has replied to those issues on Twitter, having most of the issues mitigated during an overnight collaboration with their partners at Google. No further issues are to be expected for now.
For those interested, I really do recommend checking out the mobile release for Runescape! Even for Runescape veterans, this can be a whole new experience playing the game on another platform and on the go. For those interested, there is a subscription available for $10.99 a month to make the grind a little easier.
