Sonic is (almost) back with the Sonic 2020 Project

Sonic 2020. That’s it. That’s the article.

Straight from SEGA Japan, with an assist from Google Chrome’s translations, Sega has announced that the 20th of each month will be Sonic Day. Okay, Sonic Day is unofficial… but I am sure that by December, it will be a common term.

The announcement itself was the first of the Sonic 2020 Project, but February should be an exciting one given that Sonic’s live-action adventure is coming out just before. Here’s the updated trailer for that:

To commemorate the start of this project, Sega has added a range of “various digital contents” to the Sonic 2020 page of their website for people to download. These include Twitter Icons and Banners, wallpapers and a digital calendar.

Here’s next month’s design of Silver the Hedgehog.

Sega has also announced that it is recruiting fan artists in an effort to develop new promotional material throughout this year; however, there hasn’t been any information on how artists could get involved with this. Maybe next month?

For now, all we can do is wait. But, in the meantime, why not check out the Gamezo Twitter for the latest from the team. More of a Mario fan? Here’s why he’s a terrible doctor.
