The Square Enix announcement in lieu of E3 2020 will come throughout the summer. Expect news to drop both in July and August, most-likely via digital presentation.
So… As we all know, E3 2020 has been cancelled. It has been for some time. While this is good news for the general well-being of the general public, it isn’t so good for people who want gaming news. Thankfully, the era we live in doesn’t mean it’s hard for game developers to get in contact with their audiences. This includes Square Enix, who have been busy theorizing ways to showcase games amidst a global pandemic.
Thankfully, they may have found a way…
Square Enix Announcement Plans Shared Through Stockholders Meeting Last Week
After holding a regular Question & Answer session with the shareholders, Square Enix has shed some light on what fans might be able to expect in relation to news on any new releases.
The answer to the question on announcements is as follows:
“Yes, we normally do announce new games at E3. However, we did have plans to do a press conference as a replacement, but since the assets weren’t ready, we were not able to hold the event. That said, we’ll make individual title announcements later when the timing is right. We have plans to announce several (new titles) through July and August.”
Unfortunately, it isn’t a lot. It also isn’t very specific. This announcement could mean a digital presentation? An ominous tweet? Or even some sort of mass carrier pigeon message… Only time will tell, but what do you expect to see?
