EA have revealed the PC requirements for the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons that is due to release on October 2nd on PC via Steam & Origin, PS4 and Xbox One. VR will also be supported on PC and PS4.
Here are the official requirements;
Minimum (Non-VR):
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor (AMD): Ryzen 3 1300X
- Processor (Intel): Intel I5-7600
- Memory: 8GB
- Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon HD 7850 or Equivalent
- Graphics Card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 660 or Equivalent
- DirectX: 11
- Multiplayer Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
- Hard Drive Space: 30GB
Recommended (Non-VR) / Minimum (VR)
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor (AMD): Ryzen 3 3200G
- Processor (Intel): Intel I7-7700
- Memory: 16GB
- Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon RX 480 or Equivalent
- Graphics Card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 1060 or Equivalent
- DirectX: 11
- Multiplayer Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
- Hard Drive Space: 30GB
Recommended (VR)
- OS: Windows 10
- Processor (AMD): Ryzen 3 3200G
- Processor (Intel): Intel I7-7700
- Memory: 16GB
- Graphics Card (AMD): Radeon RX 570 or Equivalent
- Graphics Card (Nvidia): GeForce GTX 1070 or Equivalent
- DirectX: 11
- Multiplayer Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
- Hard Drive Space: 30GB
Overall, these are very reasonable requirements for Star Wars: Squadrons. The 1060 is the minimum anyone should really be using in 2020, so most players will have this or exceed it. While the i7 7700 sounds daunting, the recently released Ryzen 3 3200G is a $100 CPU and goes toe to toe with the i7 7000. This should be a game most people will be able to play.
