Get Maple Syrup from Maple Trees
As expected, you can get Maple Syrup from Maple Trees. Simply attach a tapper onto it and after 9 nights, you will be able to collect it from the tree. In order to craft a tapper, you will need level 3 Foraging. Crafting it will require 40 Wood and 2 Copper Bars.
Because it takes quite a while to get Maple Syrup from just one tree, it is recommended to have your own tree farm for tapping in other to collect them in bulk. Players can have a dedicated section of their farm with tapped trees, which can be collected when they produce items.
Rare Product from the Wood Chipper
Update 1.4 introduced the Wood Chipper, which can be purchased from the Carpenter’s Shop for 1,000g. With a Wood Chipper, you can convert wood into other products. Specifically, Hardwood and Driftwood. However, only Hardwood can produce Maple Syrup.
Hardwood has a 0.66% chance on producing Maple Syrup. Because of the rare chance of and that fact that it takes 3 in-game hours to produce something, it is not recommended to use Wood Chipper as a main method of farming Maple Syrup.
