Stardew Valley How To Move Chest

How many times have you frustratingly tried to move a chest in Stardew Valley to no avail? I mean we all are about aesthetics after all. Jokes apart, it is actually quite a process to move the chest out of the location you placed it in. And you might be yanking out your hair at the end of it. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! Scroll down and find out more!

How to Shift and Move a chest in Stardew Valley?

Stardew Valley How To Move Chest

To move a chest in the game, you will first have to empty out the contents inside. This also means that you will have to make sure that your character inventory is empty in order to take all the stuff out. Once that is done, whip out your ax and whack the chest with it. This will automatically take the chest to your inventory menu.

Now, go over to the location where you want to place your chest. Toggle and open the Inventory section and you will be able to place it in the new location. This will allow you to successfully move the chest in Stardew Valley.

Interact with the chest to open it and you can then place all the items from your character inside. Another way by which you can move a chest is by hitting it with a bare hand. This means that you shouldn’t equip the ax. Now, simply hit the chest repeatedly with an empty hand and you will find that it moves 1 tile away. Keep doing this till you get it in the position you want.

Chests are pretty handy items in the game. As your level increases, you will be quite dependent on them as you can’t carry everything on your character. Plus, any items you keep inside these boxes will not perish, even if it is a commodity such as a Red Snapper.

You can keep the chest anywhere on the map. So, if you make frequent trips to the caves or the Skull Cavern in Stardew Valley, you can place and move a chest on your path. This will give you access to resources as and when you want.

However, if you keep a chest on a path that is used by other NPCs, it will disappear. All the items inside will get dropped and scattered in and around that area. You can also store 999 units of one particular resource in just one slot. Pretty handy. However, I would suggest having all your chests in one location. This will allow you to not miss out on any rare resource that you worked hard for. Plus, it is better to have all your items in one location, isn’t it?
