How to stop overheating in DayZ

DayZ is a pretty serious game where you will get to experience several real-life situations such as Overheating. And this overheating is not just limited to your physical self. Oh no. It can even happen to your car. DayZ is very brutal and you will have to cure yourself countless times along the way. However, that adds to the charm of the game even if it is a bit sadistic. Now, let’s answer the important question you are here to have a look at, how to stop yourself from overheating.

How to stop overheating in DayZ

These methods will stop you from overheating:

  • Jumping into a lake or river
  • Removing all clothes from your character
  • Removing any face mask
  • Lightly jogging or walking instead of sprinting
  • Drinking lots of water

Overheating is also known as Hyperthermia in the game. You will mostly experience this when you’re out and about in the sun or have been on the run constantly. Hyperthermia in turn leads to loss of water and dehydration. Hence, you will want to stop overheating in DayZ as soon as possible as it can result in death.

Out of all the methods mentioned in the list above, removing the face mask and jumping into a water body are the best methods to follow. These will instantly cool you off and offer you some slight respite as you take a well-deserved break from killing zombies and avoiding enemies. While out and about in the sun, make sure to not have any warm clothes on. Dress as lightly as possible and keep the warm clothes in the bag for when the night falls. Follow all of these steps and you might be able to beat the heat.

How to stop a vehicle from Overheating?

The second thing that can overheat in the game is a vehicle. Postapocalyptic Russia doesn’t have well-serviced cars. Who knew right? Luckily, the process for this is pretty straightforward. And like many things DayZ mimics from real life, vehicle servicing also remains true to the original. All you have to do is exit your car and pop open the bonnet. Next, just add water to the radiator and you will be good to go. It might also be a good idea to get your oil topped up. While motor oil is a pretty hard resource to come by in the game, it is worth the inventory space.

Once you follow these steps above, you will have a fully functioning vehicle that you can drive around in. However, beware of stranger danger. There aren’t many working vehicles in the post-apocalyptic world, so there are bound to be some jealous players around. And that is everything you need to know about how to stop overheating in DayZ.
