King back to … carry? SumaiL joins OG shortly after the organization said goodbye to 3 of its mainstay players for DPC 2020 season.
After much speculation, it is finally confirmed that Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan will be joining the reigning TI champion for the remainder of this Dota Pro Circuit season. The famed mid player will take up the carry position at his new organization.
There have been rumors around which team SumaiL will join next, but nothing was actually confirmed, as it is wildly known that SumaiL still has an active contract with EG despite not playing for them anymore, and the payout would cost any team a large sum of money. It wasn’t until a few days ago that sources said SumaiL will likely join OG together with ana and JerAx leaving. Since all of these turned out to be true, be on the lookout for OG.MidOne and OG.Saksa, said the sources.
The youngest player who has ever won a TI, SumaiL has performed at the top level years after years for Evil Geniuses. Another major Dota 2 championship has been elusive for the Pakistan-born mid genius ever since TI5. At the start of this competitive season, SumaiL left EG to form team Quincy Crew with his brother, Yawar. However, his stint with Quincy Crew lasted only a month. SumaiL remained teamless ever since, spending his time climbing the ladders and ended up being the top 1 player for both core and support in North America.
Last time they signed a former TI winner, OG ended up winning 2 Majors back to back. Now, with the addition of SumaiL, they will be looking towards winning the third International title in a row.
