Pokemon Generations are defined by their starter Pokemon. Not sure who to pick, though? Here’s the Sword Shield starter evolutions to help you plan out who you want to accompany you across Galar!
Every great Pokemon Trainer has their pal. Brock has Onix, Serana has Fennekin, and Ash has Pikachu! Who do you have? Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield offer up three, brand-new Pokemon for you to pick from!
Like usual, there’s a Fire-type, a Water-type, and a Grass-type up for grabs. You pick one, and your friendly rival picks a second based on Type Advantages. What happens to the third Pokemon starter? We’ll never know… I’d like to think they go off and live a happy, free life.
Anyway… Below are the three starter Pokemon and their evolutions. This’ll help you decide who you fancy taking with you on your adventures!
Sword Shield Starter Evolutions – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble
Grookey, the Chimp Pokemon
Grookey is a Grass-type Pokemon…
Who evolves into Thwackey, starting at level 16…
And then evolves into Rillaboom, starting at level 35.
Scorbunny, the Rabbit Pokemon
Scorbunny is a Fire-type Pokemon…
Who evolves into Raboot, starting at level 16…
And then evolves into Cinderace, starting at level 35.
Sobble, the Water Lizard Pokemon
Sobble is a Water-type Pokemon…
Who evolves into Drizzile, starting at level 16…
And then evolves into Inteleon, starting at level 35.
Damn. I forgot about the hilarity of Pokemon names. I mean, Raboot!? Seriously, Nintendo? Anyway. With any generation of Pokemon, the starter you pick is fairly important. Multiple saves and trading will help you get all three if you can’t settle for one! But why would you need to do that when Grookey is right there?
