The Last Of Us Part 2 appears to not be getting released in the Middle East region, possibly due to nudity and sexual content. The game has been promoted on Playstation’s Middle East Twitter account but it doesn’t seem to be able to be purchased, at least not digitally.
Reddit user GHOSTECHFUL e-mailed Playstation Support and received an e-mail back confirming the ban. While no reason has been given it is likely because of the nudity and sexual content that is in the game, according to the ESRB rating.
Players in the region will have options to play though, they can use an account registered outside of the region, such as the US, to purchase the game or they could import it from another country. But it still sucks that gamers will have to go through extra loopholes to play the game when it launches.
The Last of Us: Part 2 is out June 19.
